New music from a mixologist
DJ Fancy has worked behind the scenes for many years. He grew
up in Atlanta where he worked in popular night clubs during the 90's.
His popularity spread and he became more involved in the technical side
of the business. He started working midnight's at a local radio
station, mixing and working the carts. His hard work ethic got him
recognized and he was promoted in his organization. His love is mixing
music and finding those "needle in the haystack" songs that are destine
for greatness. "You have to have an open mind and sharp ear to pick
potentially great songs." Two years ago he moved to New Jersey and
continues to work as a musical engineer. His love for dance music and
the demand from listeners has encourage him to start making CD's
available. He specializes in new music, remixes, dancehall
and disco house.
DJ Fancy has contributed music and sampling for many artists. If your
looking for the music that moves dancers today, you have to listen to
DJ Fancy. He has that knack to pick songs ....way before.... they climb
the charts. His favorite instrument is his turntables. Fancy is an avid
collector and has an extensive list of classic dance music going back
to the early 70's. If there is a song that you just can't find, check
with him so he can review his vinyl record vault. His CDs are
compilations of the top dance songs in clubs today, the ones that you
hear on satellite radio. Don't waste your money buying a dozen
different CDs when you can purchase one CD with all the top dance
songs. Each month, he releases a new hot CD with the top current dance
songs (ranging from 110 beats per minute to 130 beats per minute). The
February edition includes songs from: Ultra Nate, Mary J. Blige, Bob
Sinclair, Britney Spears, Erika Jayne, Jordan Sparks, Kristine W...14
songs in all.
To purchase the February edition, contact him at: sparda3636@yahoo.com
Each CD is only $15.00 which includes shipping. Mail to:

Letters to the Editor
Hi Ron,
I have never had the pleasure of meeting you personally, but I do
receive your email and find it so informative and really enjoy reading
it. As a former New Yorker who recently moved to California,
I really never appreciated New York's dance scene until I moved
here. Now I only wish I had taken lessons and appreciated the
scene more fully. Don't get me wrong, Cali folks love to dance too, but
New York is so vibrant and intense, especially Hustle which is the only
dance I do, I really really regret not fully embracing the intensity
and fullness of NY's Hustle scene all it's myriad flavors.
Please remind your subscribers how wonderful New York's Hustle scene is
and how important New York is to the continuance of the dance, and how
great it is for New York is to be the epicenter of the dance
world.
Thanks so much and keep on keepin' on, maybe Dance Talk and NY Hustle
thrive.
Best,
A.B.

I enjoy your newsletter especially the upcoming events. Would
you consider listing which events are "smoke free"? It would
be a great help in deciding which events we want to attend. I
know we could call each venue individually but since
you already have sooo much information on them it would be
great to have this info added to your listings.
Thanks!
Joan H.

Hey there Ron,
I wanted to comment on the article you wrote about Mr. Alex Kim.
He should be commended for helping to teach others the hustle. Its not
just about money for him. If the dancers of today really want to keep
this dance going, they are going to have to work a lot harder at it.
I'm not that familiar with the Harvest Moon Ball but Alex sounds like a
really great guy who doesnt just talk the talk but walks the walk. He
shows real leadership qualities. I would guess he is successfull in all
areas of his life. Thank you Alex,
Doris Huff >>>>>>>> Dear Ron:
I grew up on Long Island, moved away [1983] to attend college in Boston
and never returned!!!! but I got turned onto your dance letter and love
hearing about dancers from the past!!!!! Growing up we went dancing 6
nights a week. I enjoyed dancing [not competing] at discotheques like
Uncle Sams and Decamerons. The best dancer was a guy name James
Stanford, boy could he move, with style, grace and showmanship like
nobody else. Nobody.
Keep up the great work,
Sharon Holt - Warner >>>>>>>>
Hey Ron,
I have shared your newsletter Dancetalk with a number of my friends,
many from the late 70's and 80's. They really enjoy your articles. I
was telling Claire about the awards you gave back in December where the
readers chose the best dancers and stuff. I think that is the coolest
thing. How can I share the results with my friends?
Why not keep the winners posted each week so others that don't read it
every week can see the results? You do a great job but I think it would
be great to keep them listed all year???? What do you think?
Thank you,
Sandy - New York **Response
I love the idea, thank you Sandy (see below)
