She is among a rare breed of great dancers that had the opportunity to dance with the master. Lorelei just returned from Florida where she performed and partnered with the incomparable Francois Szony. Her exciting dance history has brought her to this point in time....adagio is in her blood.
Back in the 30's, there were many great dance teams. One of the most exciting couples were the popular Henriques & Adrienne. Bill Henriques, was a famed adagio dancer that traveled the country performing. His dancing evolved as he took on new challenges producing and choreographing dance. While on the road, Bill and his wife Irma (who was a dancer in the show) had their first child, Lorelei. After the birth of their second child, Rex, the dance team decided it was time to settle down. After years of performing and touring, in 1958 The Henriques Academy of the Dance Arts opened its doors in Bucks County Pennsylvania. The dance center was received well and had great success. It also enrolled 2 new talented students, Lorelei and Rex. By the age of 14, Lorelei was already performing with a ballet company and by 17 was touring in a professional show. Rex went to college and majored in dance, earning his degree and focusing on show business. He had always loved adagio and was mesmerized by the great Francois Szony. It was only natural for these two kids to co mingle their talents, just as their parents had, as an adagio team. Their father passed away at a young age. Their mother would continue to run the dance studio in Bensalem Pa. by herself. Lorelei and Rex would tour the United States, South America, the Caribbean Islands and Acapulco performing. The studio would continue to grow over the years but suffered a terrible fire. Their mother decided it was time to sell the business that she had run for two decades. Like their parents, Rex and Lorelei, decided to ground their touring days and take over the studio in 1984. Fast forwarding twenty-one years to 2005, the studio continues to thrive. Renamed, The Bucks County Dance Center, teachers from other area dance studios come to BCDC to hone their skills. BCDC teaches dance to students from age 2 to Senior Citizens. Six years ago Lorelei started a tap class for senior citizens Starting with only five seniors, the class has now grown to over thirty! " The Easy Steppers have appeared on Channel 3, Fox News, State Senator Tommy Tomlinson's Senior Expo as well as many other appearances.
