John Lindo is thrilled to announce that this year they will offer Strictly Swing & Strictly Hustle Pro-Ams. The Pro-Am Swing & Hustle contest will be held on Sunday June 26, starting at 2:00 p.m. They will offer Novice, Inter. and Adv. levels in both Swing & Hustle divisions. I'd also like to give a shout out for Robin Amante. Robin had done so much to keep the Long Island Hustle crowd together for as long as I can remember. She always emailed us about every possible Hustle dance event and it's now nice to see that she is more directly involved with scheduling parties.

Hey Ron,
I wanted to give you and your readers a quick view of my opinion on the current group of tv dance shows.
Dancing with the stars is very entertaining but without question a farce. At times I find myself laughing so hard because Bruno is too funny but overall the show is a joke. But the truth is, it's about ratings not about who is the best. Now, So You Think You Can Dance. Wow, great talent. But give me a break with all this crumping and sending talented dancers to do the choreography. The bottom line is, as one of your past letters stated. This show should have a female winner and a male winner. It is not fair to pick just one. I also feel the format should go back to early seasons. I hate when they have new dancers partner with previous season dancers. Boring. It would be nice to see another dance show appear that lets you see couples just social dancing, like the good old days of Bandstand.

Hi Ron,
Hope all is well. Just wanted to write you about a wonderful experience I had at this event, it was hosted by a gentleman named Glen Miller. It was a WCS and Hustle event and they are trying to build hustle part of it and numerous well known pros were staffed, very well organized event as comps were ran on time plenty of dancing in between and an entertaining shows and great music to dance as well, they played a lot of music that you can do both WCS and Hustle, they had a separate room just for hustle for the ones who did not want to watch comps and just do hustle. The hotel rooms were the best since I've been going to these dance events and it was only $109 a night, also had 2 golf courses on the property. The only downside that I can see was the transportation from to airport as it was about an hour ride each way but Mr Miller was kind enough to arrange number of volunteers who took care of our transportation at no charge. Mr. Miller was taking very good care of the staff and volunteers as he had a staff room which had food, snacks and drinks all night long.
It was nice to see most of staffed pros spent time on the hustle social floor, Roberto&Rosa, Kelvin&LoriAnn, Billy Marti&Veronica, Christy Kam, there were fabulous dancers(doing hustle) from Nino's studio in Chicago they were a lot of fun to dance with. I know that some of our hustle pros enjoy doing WCS but I thank the ones who came to hustle social floor to support hustle.

Many thanks and appreciation for all those great ladies that helped make my recent Birthday Dance "special" for me. Thanks to my friend Loren for the delicious cake and of course my favorite DJ Mark for playing my selections. Fred's photos captured the event most professionally. Cannot wait for next year to do it all again.
